Assignment Risk Calculator

Short options can be assigned when they finish in the money. The calculator estimates the chance of finishing in the money using the Black-Scholes model (N(−d2) for puts, N(d2) for calls) from stock price, strike, days to expiration and implied volatility.

A chart shows how that probability changes as expiration approaches. Early assignment can still happen, especially on calls just before an ex-dividend date or on deep in-the-money options.

Results are educational estimates from standard formulas, not investment advice. Live prices, fees and your broker's rules can change the outcome.
